(UPDATE: 12:25 p.m.) – It's been a positive morning for crews battling the Dee Lake Road wildfire.

The blaze, about 15 kilometres east of Oyama, remains at 7 hectares and the BC Wildfire Service reports that the fire is now 70% machine guarded.

As a result, less resources are being used on the fire and only 26 BC Wildfire Service personnel and two helicopters remain on scene.

(UPDATE: 6:40 p.m.) – The wildfire two kilometres east of Dee Lake has doubled in size, but is still quite small.

The fire is now measured at 7-hectares, according to Fire Information Officer Marla Catherall.

There are now 28 BC Wildfire Service personnel battling the blaze with the help of two helicopters, one piece of heavy equipment and multiple air tankers.

No structures are being threatened by the fire.

(UPDATE: 5:40 p.m.) – The BC Wildfire Service have 26 personnel, two helicopters and air tankers on scene at a wildfire about 15 kilometres east of Oyama.

Fire Information Officer Marla Catherall told KelownaNow the fire is located two kilometres east of Dee Lake.

It's currently 3 hectares in size, but threatening no structures.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.

(UPDATE: 4:55 p.m.) – The BC Wildfire Service has confirmed the location of a fire in between Vernon and Kelowna.

The fire is at King Edward Lake, which is east of Kalamalka Lake and northeast of both Wood Lake and Oyama Lake.

Crews and air support are en route, but information on the fire size, cause and the number of crews responding to the fire is not yet available.

The BC Wildfire Service confirmed the fire to NowMedia through a phone call.

They're sending crews and air support to the fire, but have no other information at this time.
