Meet Jessica! Jessica is originally from Edmonton, Alberta and moved to B.C. over three years ago!
Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
I can’t pick just one! My family of course. I have two beautiful, silly little girls and an amazing fiancé.
What is your favourite local store in Penticton and why?
My favourite local store in Penticton would have to be Sirius Science and Nature. They have a lot of really interesting items, a good variety of things, and my fave… crystals. 😉
Describe yourself in one word.
Silly.
If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
I would go to Costa Rica with my family. I’ve heard so many wonderful stories about how beautiful and amazing it is.
What is your favourite activity in Penticton?
There are so many things to do here! Haha. Right now, I guess my favourite would have to be playing beach volleyball with my team The Pink Flamingos. (Yells “Flamingos!” And strikes our pose)
What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
One of the most embarrassing things that happened to me is getting “skirted” in Highschool. It was lunchtime in the food court. Everyone was enjoying their lunch, as a guy walked up to me, and lifted up my skirt for everyone to see.
What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
Being a stay at home mom with my girls and moving to BC has completely changed my life. Every day is a blessing and a new exciting journey. I meet so many nice people and I’m constantly growing and learning. I have become a Psychic Medium, Intuitive Healer, Reiki Master and certified in Swedish Massage in the last four years. I can’t wait to see what else is in store for me.
Tell us your favourite childhood memory.
Riding the Polar Bear Express at the Edmonton Klondike Days with my Sister Jen. The music was pumping, and the ride would take you backwards. Everyone would scream with excitement.
Where do you volunteer or give back to in the community?
I donate Reiki Massages, crystals, and/or Medium Readings whenever I’m guided to. You never know who needs healing, or what kind of messages their loved ones have for them. It’s a lot of fun and truly warms my heart. I love helping people and encouraging them to heal themselves.
If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
People being so negative. If we said five things we’re grateful for each day and made an effort to help five people a day. Even the simplest thing like holding open a door for someone and smiling, or saying hi 🙂 or talking to random strangers.
Where would you sneak away to in Penticton to spend some time alone?
Skaha Beach. Either right on the beach, or the nice park area.
Where would you like to see positive change in Penticton and why?
That’s a tough one. I really love Penticton as a whole. I think it’s an amazing City to live, work, or visit. I think I read somewhere that Penticton was voted top 10 worst Cities to live in for Crime? So, making the streets safer and helping the people who need it would be a step in the right direction.
What do you think makes Penticton great?
The people, the Channel, the two amazing Lake’s, the beautiful scenery.
What are 3 things on your bucket list?
Travelling the world with my family,
Going on an Abraham Hicks Cruise and Surfing at least 3 different locations around the world.
Tell us something that not everyone may know about you.
I love to sing, dance and play my guitar and keyboard. But I’m too shy to play with them in front of most people.
How do people connect with you, personally, through social media?
I have LinkedIN, and Instagram.
What is the name of your business/organization?
Beyond Zen Reiki & Massage.
Why did you get into/start this business?
I was called to help people. I’m not fulltime as of yet, as I’m enjoying my time with my girls, but will be in a couple of years when they’re in school full time.
What is the goal of your business?
To help heal as many clients as possible and give them the tools so they can continue to work on themselves and heal themselves.
What has been your biggest struggle either at work or in life?
Stepping into my power and doubting myself. With the medium readings and all the energy work. I was very sceptical at first. I know most people are too. But I enjoy showing them that it is real and we all have special gifts.
If you could start all over again would you do things the same or would things be different?
I wouldn’t change a thing, as this has been an amazing transformational journey.
What do you always find yourself saying?
Great job guys! Great job! Or singing silly songs I make up. Oh, and swear words :/ lol
Tell us your best piece of life advice.
Love yourself, believe in yourself, love everyone and don’t be bothered by what others have to say about you. Everyone is on their own journey, we don’t truly know what anyone is going through. Be kind to everyone, treat them how you want to be treated.
If you could spend one whole day with anyone in the world who is currently alive, who would you select?
My beautiful Grandma Betty. I’d love to hear all about her childhood, her jokes and enjoy her baking.
Why do you think it is important to shop locally?
It’s important because we want our friends, neighbors and families to thrive.
What has been your proudest accomplishment?
Giving birth to my two girls.
Give someone you think that deserves it a shout out and explain why!
Kori Wyborn. She is an amazing woman, mom and friend. Check out her website at Blackiform.com its for anyone works in the service industry that requires you to wear black, or anyone looking for a cute black outfit. Kori was one of my first friends here.
My choice for the PentictonNow In Focus spotlight is:

Some general comments I would like to share are:
To book a service, you can call, or text me at (250)486-6457. Mobile services are available for the South Okanagan region. If you can help even one person a day, in anyway, know that that creates a domino effect. A positive reaction and the good will keep spreading. Don’t forget to shine your light bright. You never know who needs you in their life. Take one day at a time, one step at a time, one breath at a time. Everything is going to be okay and workout 🙂 Sending everyone my love.
