If you’re hoping for a sudden flip to more typical Okanagan summer weather in time for the long weekend, you’re going to be disappointed.

The cooler temperatures and cloudy days are set to continue into the Canada Day long weekend, according to NowMedia meteorologist Wesla English.

“Below seasonal temperatures will continue through the Canada Day Long weekend under a broad upper trough,” she explains. “Cool air aloft and a persistent northwesterly flow will keep conditions unsettled.”

“That’s not to say there won’t be any sun over the next few days, but it will be punctuated with cloudy periods and a chance of showers as well.”

It’s a warmer start to the day today, as we sit around 15°C at 6:35 a.m., but we’re also under a sky of clouds.

It won’t get much warmer throughout the day either, as it isn’t expected to get above 20°C.

On the bright side, you could probably get away without sunscreen or allergy medicine today, as both the UV index and pollen index will only be moderate.
