It is officially sunscreen season in B.C. as a blanket of heat covers several regions across the province.
According to Environment Canada, several record high temperatures marks were eclipsed on Monday, with thermometres pushing well past the 30-degree mark.
At a scorching 37.8 C, the hottest spot in the country on Monday was Lytton, B.C., which wasn't even listed as the village's temperature record for the day.
However, there were several communities that reached record high temperatures:
- Pemberton, 37.4 C
- Kitimat, 36.1 C
- Port Alberni, 34.6 C
- Comox Airport, 33.8 C
- Nakusp, 33.3 C
- Osoyoos, 33 C
- West Vancouver, 32.6 C
- Agassiz, 31 C

"A strong upper ridge is keeping the sun shining right across the province along with very warm conditions," says Meteorologist Wesla English.
"Daytime high records are expected to break today again for parts of B.C."
The blistering hot temperatures continue today with the Cariboo, Peace River, Fraser Valley, Fraser Canyon and Metro Vancouver all under a heat warning by Environment Canada.
