Final preparations are underway for the grand opening of the new Craft Beer Market in Kelowna.

They call it a "food first" pub, but it's the incredible array of local, regional and far-flung craft beer choices that gives Craft its name.

The space has kept true to the local history with artifacts from the old Paramount Theatre built right into the decor. 

The main pub is framed by soaring chrome pipes delivering 112 draft choices, including over a hundred beers.

We spoke with the founder of Craft,  P.J. L'Heureux, who leaves you feeling that a love of beer has risen to the level of worship here.

"We call it the Cathedral of Beer. It's like you walk into the organ pipes and that holy feeling."

There are seven Craft Beer Markets, all in much larger urban centres. However, L'Heureux grew up with annual visits to the Okanagan, So even though Craft has it's origins in Calgary, the Kelowna opening is like a homecoming.

"Every summer I've been out here. I've watched it grow from a small town and now it's on it's way to becoming a big city."
