My name is Jade Nguyen, and I'm 17-years-old. I'm an international student from Vietnam, now studying in Victoria High School. I have been living in Victoria for about seven months, and it is one of the most beautiful cities that I've been to. In my free time, I enjoy exploring the city with my friends and taking photos of things I randomly find on the streets. Even though my phone can take great pictures, my future plan is to buy a camera and learn more about photography in order to take professional photos. I'd also love to travel more, maybe around Asia or Europe!

Why do you use Instagram?

I started using Instagram a few years ago when I got a new phone. I got really interested in taking photos and I also like traveling so posting photos on Instagram has became my habit.

What will people see on your feed?

I often take pictures of places I've been to, mostly scenery. Every once in a while, I also post photos of food and cafes that I enjoy back home.

Does your page have a specific style?

I would say my Instagram is very messy compared to other aesthetic accounts. It doesn't have a specific theme. I don't want to follow a particular style and I'd rather just post whatever I like.

Favorite Instagram accounts to follow?

I follow a lot of travellers and bloggers with aesthetic feed, such as taramilktea, lichipan, alexetiawan_, matttux and _plssaveme_.

How do you decide on your location for shoots?

Surprisingly I never plan anything ahead of time. I also have no idea where to go beforehand in order to take good pictures. Usually when I walk around and explore the city with my friends, I would find some unexpected beautiful scenery and that's when I take out my phone and do the rest of the work.

Biggest Instagram moment?

My biggest Instagram moment might be when I finally got a chance to travel around my country and also different countries. That was also when I gained a significant amount of followers who surprisingly really likes my photos.

Favorite hashtags?

I always use the hashtag #takenbyjade to distinguish my photos. Also VSCO is my all-time favourite app to edit my photos so I use the hashtag #vsco a lot too.

Why do you follow VictoriaBCNow?

I actually didn't know about VictoriaBCNow before someone contacted me about this. I think I will definitely follow VictoriaBCNow because I love to know more about beautiful places in our city.
