My name is Cassidy Watt and I am a 20-year-old makeup artist residing and working in Kamloops and surrounding areas. I am currently in my first year of university while running my own business specializing in bridal and photo shoot makeup artistry.

After working full-time in the beauty industry at a local makeup counter, I decided to start my own freelance makeup artistry business in 2017 and have been doing weddings and photo shoots ever since. I am a self-taught makeup artist who is always learning, staying on trend and advancing my techniques through social media platforms such as Instagram and Youtube. When I'm not glamming brides for their wedding days or studying at school you can most likely find me enjoying time with friends and family.

Why do you use Instagram?

I love using Instagram as a tool to reach both a larger scale audience and my more local clients. Instagram is a great way for me to showcase my portfolio, keep my followers updated on what shoots or projects I'm working on and to in turn see what my fellow makeup inspirations are working on too! I also reach a lot of potential brides throughout BC through Instagram, which is a wonderful way to network my services out into the community.

What will People see on your feed?

My feed is primarily gorgeous shots from numerous local photographers of my bridal work that I am so thankful to be able to share with my followers. I also feature before and after shots of makeup looks I have created as well as behind the scenes photos of projects that I am working on. You will se everything from natural, everyday makeup to nighttime smokey eyes on my feed.

Do you have a specific style?

I would say that my makeup style is primarily soft and glamorous with some killer lashes. I enjoy Bridal makeup as it is all about enhancing a bride's natural features. I have had some of the most beautiful canvases to work with, which make doing their makeup so effortless. My Instagram style reflects this with a light, clean and bright aesthetic. I use a mixture of professional photos and comparisons/side by sides to showcase my makeup in many forms.

Favourite Instagram Accounts to follow?

@jaclynhill I've been a huge fan of Jaclyn since before she was the makeup goddess that she is today; predictable answer I know, but she is my makeup inspiration everyday!

@thehannahmartin Hannah's photography is my favourite of all time and her hilarious Instagram stories are the highlight of my day.

@girlgvng Hailey posts some of THE most creative and simply beautiful makeup looks I have ever seen and she's a Kamloops babe too, what's not to love?

@momentsbycailey Cailey's photography is beautiful, her couples shoots are my particular favourite! I've had the pleasure of working with her recently and thoroughly enjoy each photo she posts.

Why do you follow KamloopsBCNow?

I enjoy following local creators and content and KamloopsBCNow is no exception! I love knowing whats happening in the community around me and keeping my feed full of local information is super important to me.

How do you decide on the location of your shoots?

As I work primarily in the bridal industry, many of my locations are some beautiful wedding venues. I have had the pleasure of travelling throughout B.C. to be on locations for weddings in the Shuswap, Osoyoos, Sun Peaks, the Okanagan and so on. I also have been a part of weddings at gorgeous Kamloops venues, such as Meaghan and Jared's wedding at The Noble Pig Brewhouse (pictured above) last summer. I love travelling, but Kamloops has some of the most beautiful bridal and photography venues to offer in British Columbia.

Biggest Instagram Moment?

Everyday I have Instagram moments that mean so much to me. I have met so many friends and wonderful clients on Instagram, it's hard to put my finger on a specific moment that has been the best. Hitting nearly 1,500 followers in less than a year of having my account has been such an overwhelming sign of love. I love being able to look back on my first weddings and shoots and seeing how much I have grown and learnt since then. The entire experience has been the biggest moment for me.
