  • Chainsaw nun from Florida honoured with new beer

When Hurricane Irma blew through South Florida, one nun in Miami took things into her own hands – with a chainsaw.

Sister Margaret Ann will probably forever be known as the chainsaw-wielding nun who made it her mission to clear debris in the wake of the devastating hurricane, and has received an enormous amount of media attention.

As the symbol of post-Irma cleanup, Sister Ann is being honoured with a beer named ‘Nun with a Chainsaw” from Due South Brewing Co. that has a piney kick.

“This dry-hopped IPA is brewed with copious amounts of Amarillo, Azacca, and Idaho 7 hops, giving it loads of tropical and piney hop flavors and aromas,” said the brewing company.

It’s not just Ann that they’re honouring with the new beer though.

‘This is our tribute to those exceptional people who had to do what's necessary in the face of adversity,” they added.
