If you deem yourself an animal lover, like Okanagan wine and giving back to the community, then you may want to think about attending an upcoming event.

The Kelowna BC SPCA will be hosting their 10th annual Offleashed gala early this November. Though the BC SPCA host fundraisers regularly, Offleashed is their biggest bash of the year.

“This is such an important event for the BC SPCA Kelowna. It’s the highest profile event in our calendar,” said Jenny Matechuk, Officer of Community Fundraising for the BC SPCA Kelowna branch.

The event invites local animal lovers to get all dressed up for a night of dinner, cocktails, animal cuddles and much more all the while raising funds for their local BC SPCA’s initiatives.

Going into its 10th year, the 2017 version of the event is going to offer attendees much more than your typical gala fundraiser.

With a cuddle lounge, an animal runway show featuring all adoptable dogs, and auction prizes like the opportunity to get a rare look at cruelty investigations by going on a ride along with a CID Officer, attendees will have the chance to experience first hand the kind of benefits their donations can bring to an animal's life.

“100% of the funds raised benefit the local shelter, which makes a huge difference for animals in our community, they can’t speak for themselves. They can’t ask for fair treatment, or to be rescued from painful situations,” said Matechuk

“The BC SPCA exists to give animals a voice, and our work is only possible through the caring women and men who stand up for animals and make change possible.”

This one of a kind event is not only fun and glamorous but rewarding and heartwarming as guests will get to hear the incredible stories of some animals and the difference their generosity can make.

Last year, the event raised over $130,000 for the local BC SPCA branch and the animals it hosts.

The event takes place on Saturday, November 4th at the Coast Capri Hotel and tickets are already up for grabs online.
