Need some new tunes to kick off the fall?

Several artists decided to drop their latest tunes today, on Friday, October 13th.

1. St. Vincent, Masseducation

Named, Editor's Choice by, All Music, Masseducation, is Annie Clark's fifth and latest album released in the past three years.

The songs continue with similar sad, but witty pop songs. However, her music making process has changed slightly.  In an interview with  The New Yorker, Clark said she holed up in a hotel in Greenwich Village for much of the past year.

She avoided listening to any music apart from her own and lived what she referred to as a monastic life in order to focus on her music. She released a single from the album in June, called New York and many fans speculated it was about David Bowie, but Clark refused to say for sure.

The album, Masseducation is sitting at #23 on the Worldwide iTunes Album Chart and her first show kicks off in London, UK on Tuesday, October 17th.

2. Beck, Colors

The 1990's American alternative musician, Beck Hansen, has released his latest album, Colors –  a peppy, poppy album bound to get your morning off the ground. 

Beck's new songs are definitely more chart-toppers, with a catchy, poppy sound. However, making this album took years. From 2013 to 2017, Beck and musician/producer Greg Kurstin experimented with every possible sound. Songs off the album Colors were released as singles in 2015 and 2016.

This is Beck's 13th studio album.

Beck's album, Colors, is ranked #16 on the Worldwide iTunes Album Chart.

3. Courtney Barnett & Kurt Vile, Lotta Sea Lice

The lazy, 90's grunge rock duo, Courtney Barnett and Kurt Vile return with the album, Lotta Sea Lice.

While the laid-back theme continues throughout, the album also features songs with more endearing melodies for a variety of occasions.

The new duo's album, Lotta Sea Lice, is currently sitting at #88 on the Worldwide iTunes Album Chart.

4. P!nk, Beautiful Trauma

P!nk released her first album in five years. The album, Beautiful Trauma, brings her typical dance-pop vibe to her regular fan base. Her no-nonsense, don't mess with me attitude continues and gains a few shout-outs from friends on social media, urging fans to buy the new album.

One of her latest songs features Eminem, where P!nk starts to rap and Eminem sort of sings – proving P!nk's willing to try almost anything.

Her latest album is sitting at spot #9 on the Worldwide iTunes Album Chart and her world tour kicks off in Phoenix, Arizona in March 2018.

If that's not enough, she's even got her own Twitter emoji.

5. Robert Plant, Carry Fire

At 69 years of age, Robert Plant just released his latest album, Carry Fire.

The mix of Americana and British folk-rock continues on brand, however, he makes room for a few new sounds and explores Northern African rhythms.

In 2007, Plant teamed up with Alison Kraus to produce a bold and beautiful mesh of harmonies. In 2010, he came out with Band of Joy, featuring singer and girlfriend, Patty Griffin.

Carry Fire currently sites at #38 on the Worldwide iTunes Album Chart.

6. William Patrick Corgan, Ogilala

In an attempt to remove the identity as former Smashing Pumpkins lead singer, Billy Corgan, from the public eye, he's introducing himself as William Patrick Corgan. WPC just released his solo album, Ogilala, which takes a more raw, unplugged approach.

The new album, Ogilala is sitting at #202 on the Worldwide iTunes Album Chart.

7. Dolly Parton, I Believe In You

And for the Dolly fans out there, Ms. Parton has returned with an album just for kids. I Believe in You is the album moms and dads can use to pass on their Dolly love to their young ones.

However, as the song says, "you can do it if you put your mind to it," is a phrase we all need to hear at times – big or little.

This is Parton's first children's album, and based on her reaction, it might not be her last.
