According to the faculty, they plan to celebrate emerging student filmmakers of the Okanagan Valley year after year.

The screening will take place at the Landmark Cinemas Grand 10 on May 5 at 7 p.m., and will showcase short films from a wide range of genres including mini-documentary, experimental, music videos, animation and more.

A jury of faculty members selected more than a dozen diverse student short films for the event, as an opportunity to showcase emerging student filmmakers in the community.

The screening will be about 60 minutes.

This event is open to the public. Admission will be by-donation. The rest of the funding for the event will be provided in part by the Faculty of Creative and Critical Studies and the Irving K. Barber School of Arts and Sciences.

The Landmark Cinemas Grand 10 is located at 948 McCurdy Road East in Kelowna.
