Warm weather could break records in Kamloops

The sun will be out in full force this week in Kamloops.

Environment Canada is calling for a warm week beginning with projected highs of 31 C for Monday and Tuesday.

The current record high for Monday, April 18 was set in 1962 at 29 C with the average temperature at 17 C.

The record for Tuesday, April 19 was in 1910 with a high of 28 C. Wednesday, April 20's record is also a high of 28 C set in 1934.

The sun is expected to stay out throughout the week with a high of 29 C on Wednesday, 26 C on Thursday and 27 C on Friday.

It may cool down during the weekend with 22 C on Saturday and 18 C on Sunday.

Those heading outside are reminded to keep the UV index in mind and to apply sunscreen during peak hours.
