Original Story:
The Trans-Canada Highway is closed in both directions east of Golden because a rock slide has occurred and damaged power lines in the area.
According to DriveBC, the rock slide came down on Highway 1 around 5:00 a.m. and has closed the highway in both directions. The slide is approximately 17 kilometres east of Golden and an assessment is currently being conducted in the area.
There is no estimated time of opening as the slide has knocked down BC Hydro lines in the area. For the latest information and updates check DriveBC.
