A snowfall warning has been issued for the Coquihalla Highway as up to 25 centimetres of snowfall is expected over the mountain pass.

A strong Pacific cold front will sweep across the southern interior bringing with it heavy snow according to Environment Canada. The cold front will move across the region late Tuesday afternoon and into the evening, bringing with it freezing temperatures.

The snowfall warning issued by Environment Canada is for Highway 5 from Hope to Merritt. Anywhere from 20 to 25 centimetres of snowfall is expected and as much as 30 centimetres could fall at the Coquihalla Summit and along the Kootenay Pass.

A second warning has been issued for Highway 3 from the Paulson Summit to Kootenay Pass as 20 to 25 centimetres of snowfall is expected along this route.
