  • Snowfall Warning Remains in Effect Along the Coquihalla

    Update (12:50 p.m.): The snowfall warning has now been lifted along the Coquihalla Highway. 

    A snowfall warning along the Coquihalla Highway (Highway 5) remains in effect as of 8:00 a.m Saturday morning.

    The warning was initially issued by Environment Canada Friday afternoon, as the forecast called for heavy snow along Highway 5 from Hope to Merritt.

    Snowfall accumulation was expected to be around 20 centimeters at the Coquihalla Summit.

    Environment Canada is expecting an additional 10 to 20 centimeters of snow this morning before tapering off.

    Drivers are advised to check DriveBC for the latest road conditions before heading out.

    Environment Canada is reminding drivers that weather in the mountains can change suddenly, resulting in hazardous driving conditions. Drivers are asked to slow down, and drive for the conditions they are facing.
