  • Animals lighten spirits in wake of Hurricane Harvey

In response to the catastrophic consequences of Hurricane Harvey, animals have once again come to lighten our spirits.

There have been a number of animals affected by the disaster of Hurricane Harvey, but here are a few that have taken the proper measures to be “pup-pared.”

    1. Harvey the hurricane hawk

This hawk took shelter in a Houston man’s taxi before the weather hit. William Bruso was shopping for storm supplies ahead of Hurricane Harvey, and returned to a Cooper hawk sitting in the passenger seat of his cab.

Bruso posted a video of the bizarre encounter:

Bruso provides updates on his new friend via Facebook, assuring everyone that "Sgt. Hurricane Harvey" is doing well, and is waiting out the storm at Bruso's place.

    2. Otis the dog is well "pup-pared"

This dog, named Otis, was spotted carrying an entire unopened bag of dog food in Sinton, Texas after Hurricane Harvey (Otis found his owner, and is safe and sound).

    3. Smash the mounted patrol horse gets his floaties on

Smash, The Houston mounted patrol horse, was relocated to Texas A&M before the hurricane hit.

A post on Smash’s Facebook page announces his departure, along with a photo of Smash with his floaties.
