It’s arguably the biggest event of the year for high school sports in Kelowna.
The 51st Western Canada Basketball Tournament presented by Armada Steel will kick off at Kelowna Secondary School on Thursday.

The school’s gymnasium will be the site of exciting hoops action over three days, culminating with a tournament champion being decided on Saturday night.
The bracket-style tournament features eight teams from Western Canada who will need victories on Thursday and Friday to make Saturday night’s championship match.
Each team is guaranteed three games as there will be four matchups on Saturday to decide places one through eight.

Fans will also be treated to a Slam Dunk Contest on Thursday night and a 3-Point Contest on Friday night, both happening at 7 pm before the final game of the evening.
Tickets are only available at the door and cost $6 for students ($15 for a tournament pass), $12 for adults ($30 for a tournament pass) and $100 for a full-tournament courtside club seat, which are only available in limited quantities prior to Thursday’s opener.
