The road trip down the Coquihalla Highway will be a little easier on Saturday.

The Kelowna Rockets put forward an impressive all-around effort against the Prince George Cougars on Friday night and doubled up their divisional rivals 4-2.

Keith McInnis sealed the game with an empty netter in the final minute of play, which capped off a three-point night for the blue liner.

Tomas Poletin, Parker Alcos and Owen Folstrom had the earlier goals for Kelowna, which came against San Jose Sharks’ first-round pick Joshua Ravensbergen.

Harrison Boettiger stopped 26 of 28 shots he faced in the victory as he continues to get all the starts while Josh Banini works his way back from injury.

Kooper Gizowski and Riley Ashe scored for the Cougars, while a busy Ravensbergen made 36 saves on 40 shots Kelowna fired his way.

The Rockets now head on the road to take on the Vancouver Giants in Langley on Saturday. They’ll be back home to host the Portland Winterhawks on Tuesday before heading north for two games against the Cougars in Prince George next weekend.
