An Okanagan woman was stopped for impaired driving while leaving traffic court.
According to the RCMP, the 28-year-old woman was leaving the Vernon courthouse on Oct. 28.
The RCMP said the woman was attending court to request a reduction to a traffic ticket.

While dealing with the police officer who served the original ticket, the officer came to believe the woman was allegedly impaired.
“As the woman left the courthouse, police saw her get into the driver’s seat of a red pickup truck and drive away,” says Corporal Michael McLaughlin with BC Highway Patrol.
“The woman was stopped, and she failed an Approved Screening Device.”
She was issued a 90-day driving prohibition and her truck was impounded for seven days.
According to the news release, the interaction was captured on police body-worn camera and in-car video, which will serve as important evidence if the woman chooses to contest the matter in court.
