Fresh off a big win against the Edmonton Oil Kings, the Kelowna Rockets looked to achieve a similar outcome against Everett on Friday, but the Silvertips had other plans as Kelowna fell 6-3.

The Rockets opened the scoring when Hayden Paupanekis fired a shot from the slot that passed Anders Miller to take an early 1-0 lead. 

Everett responded less than two minutes later with a Jaxsin Vaughan goal before the Silvertips doubled their lead on a short-handed goal. 

The high-scoring frame saw Everett add another goal before Owen Folstrom brought the Rockets back within a score before the middle period. 

The second period was all Everett as the Silvertips scored three times to take a 6-2 lead into the third period. 

In the third, Hiroki Gojsic buried a breakaway goal at the 1:46 mark, but that was all Kelowna would get as the Silvertips clamped down and held on for the win. 

The Rockets are back on the ice at Prospera Place for their annual Teddy Bear Toss game tonight. 

Puck drop is scheduled for 6:05 pm.
