(UPDATE: Nov. 1 @ 3:15 pm) – Westside Road has been cleared and is once again open to both directions of traffic. 

While the flow of traffic in the area has been restored, 274 BC Hydro customers remain without power. 

BC Hydro estimates that service to the 274 customers will be restored around 8:30 pm.

(Original story: Nov. 1 @ 2:25 pm) –Hundreds of residents along Westside Road are without power as BC Hydro works to restore a downed power line.

The incident occurred north of Brens Road around 11 am and has impacted 274 customers. 

Crews are on site and there is no estimated time for when power will be restored.

As a result of the downed power line, Westside Road is closed between Westside Place and Hwy 97 north.  

DriveBC added that drivers along the corridor should watch out for falling trees and debris due to strong winds in the region.
