The snowfall warning for the Coquihalla has ended.
(Original story: Oct. 25 @ 2:45 pm) –Environment Canada has issued a Snowfall warning for the Coquihalla between Hope and Merritt and Hwy 3 from Paulson Summit to Kootenay Pass.

“A Pacific low-pressure system will move across the southern interior tonight,” stated the Environment Canada notice.
“Light snow from the system will start this evening and will intensify overnight. The snow is expected to taper off to a few flurries Sunday afternoon as the low moves eastward.”
In total, 15 to 20 centimetres of snow can be expected near the Coquihalla summit. The same amount can be expected on Hwy 3 with higher totals near Kootenay Pass.
“Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow,” added the notice.
“Weather in the mountains can change suddenly, resulting in hazardous driving conditions. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.”
