The beauty of our valley is now reflected in the vibrant colours of the autumn leaves, and the cooler weather pattern is now upon us!

We even had some high elevation snow during the last weekend of September to remind us that winter tire season is now in effect for travelling on high elevation mountain passes.

The month of September is typically Kelowna’s fourth warmest month.

Average daytime high in September for Kelowna is 21.7°C based on data from all months of September between 1981 to 2010.

The average daytime high recorded in September this year was 19.7°C, a couple degrees below the climate average.

However, the overnight low was a couple of degrees warmer this month compared to the average.

September 2018 saw an average daily low of 8.3°C, compared to the overnight seasonal average of 5.9°C.
 

The hottest day of last month was Friday September 7, 2018 when it hit 27.4°C, and the coolest morning last month fell on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at 4.6°C.

We received a bit more rain than seasonal this September with 34.5 mm measured on the precipitation gauge.

Out of the 30 days in September 2018, 14 of the days received measurable rain.

Speaking of rain – you don’t have to water your lawn over the next day or so – more rain in the forecast for Tuesday when an upper low swings across our region.
