    Each weekend we'll compile a list of five or more things you need to know about. Whether it's community events, treats you have to try, killer sales or where to find some dance-worthy live music, we've got you covered on activities you need to KNow to make the most of your weekend.

    May Days

    You can’t have May Long weekend without Rutland May Days! The fun, family-friendly community event returns this Friday to Rutland Centennial Park.

    Packed with fun you can check out the carnival rides and games, indulge in the best fair food, browse vendors tables, enjoy live music and take in the parade on Saturday morning at 11 a.m.

    Festivities run Friday, May 18, 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday, May 19, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday, May 20, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

    61st Knox Mountain Hill climb

    The annual Knox Mountain Hill Climb returns this weekend. Get ready for an exciting event filled with fast cars and great scenery, as car enthusiasts from around the province and farther compete to reach the top of the mountain the first.

    Races kick off at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning and carry on until 6 p.m. with a similar schedule on Monday. Attendees can also take in some cool rights at the onsite car show. Click here for the weekend schedule.

     Cool down

    Two waterparks will start flowing once again this weekend. Ben Lee waterpark in Rutland opens up on Saturday at 11 a.m. and Quilchena Splash Park opens Sunday at 8 a.m.

    New paddle trail opening

    Kelowna’s newest paddle trail is opening up at Hot Sands beach at City Park.

    The launch event kicks off at 9 a.m. with a ribbon cutting, followed by a paddle parade down to Waterfront Park that all are welcome to join!

    Rowcliffe Ave Community Block Party

    This Saturday, local band Lucky Monkey, and the City of Kelowna are teaming up to host an outdoor concert and block party.

    From 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. you, your friends and your family enjoy live local music and tasty treats from local food trucks while soaking up the sunshine.

    Visit The Peach!

    Summer is right around the corner! How do we know? Because Penticton’s own Peach on the beach is open for the season.

    Take a quick and beautiful road trip through our valley and find yourself beachside with a Crazy Shake in hand in no time! A perfect long weekend adventure.
