Fat Cat Festival
One of the community’s favourite family-friendly events returns this weekend. The Fat Cat Children’s Festival is back for its 38th year and with it comes a ‘world of wonder!’

Expect educational and exciting activity stations, music, a parade and so much more. Admission will be $5 at the gates for individuals or $15 for four. The event kicks off Friday at 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. and goes on Saturday as well, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Hit the lanes at BNA
After much anticipation, the new renovations at BNA Brewing Co. on Ellis are ready to see some action.
The already popular local hot spot just got a bit better with the addition of some groovy decor, retro game stations and six bowling lanes! Grab your friends and head over to soak it all in.
Must visit markets
A weekend ritual for most this time of year is browsing through the many craft and farmers markets we are lucky to have in the city.
The Landmark district will be kicking off their summer long Pop-up Market Series this Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the courtyard of the Landmark 6 building.

With free admission to the community, this is a great place to start your weekend as each week the market will have a different theme with new and exciting vendors. This week’s theme is Artisan and will feature everything from jewelry and clothing to food and beverages!
Kelowna Farmers’ and Crafters’ Market
Now that it is almost summer, the Farmers market is booming with an abundance of fresh produce from around the Okanagan.

The Saturday market is always a great place to not only pick up your groceries for the week ahead, but an awesome spot for breakfast or lunch, and shopping centre for one of a kind clothing or jewellery. The market runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday and Wednesday.
East Kelowna Community Market
Recurring every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., this quaint market hosted at East Kelowna Community Hall has something for everyone.

Walk for a cause
Its always nice to get out and get active, and doing so in the name of supporting a worthy cause is a great bonus.
For those of you who care to share your voice for animals, the Okanagan’s first March to Close All Slaughterhouses takes place this Saturday morning.

Departing from the Sails at 11:30 a.m., our community’s passionate animal lovers will walk through downtown before hosting a vigil to end off the walk.
On Sunday morning, locals will gather at the Dolphins Statue near Waterfront Park to walk in support of those battling ALS, in hopes to raise funds for research into finding a cure.

Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. with the walk along the waterfront commencing at 11:30 a.m. Afterward, attendees can look forward to enjoying live music and treats.
Also taking place Sunday morning is Kelowna’s 25th Walk to Cure Diabetes at Mission Creek Park.

Taking place in cities across the nation, attendees will band together to raise funds to support the life-changing research being conducted to cure Type 1 Diabetes. Registration starts at 9 a.m. followed by opening ceremonies with participants heading out at 11 a.m.
