  • Warriors secure another recruit from Massachusetts

The West Kelowna Warriors have brought in a lot of talent to help the team compete next year and there seems to be a common theme.

It appears as though the club is trying to tap into some of the talent that’s available out of Massachusetts, and they’ve done it again.

This time, it’s Boston native Phil Tresca who has committed to the team.

The forward scored 10 goals and 18 assists in 28 games for The Rivers School in the USHS Prep league last year.

“Phil is a highly touted prospect,” said head coach Simon Ferguson. “He brings a solid 200-foot game, great IQ and speed up front.”

The 5’11”, 185 lbs forward will join his Rivers School teammate Pat Lawn on the Warriors next year and they aren’t the only ones from the region who will be in West Kelowna next year.

Fellow Massachusetts natives Jack Cronin and Connor Joyce have also committed to play at Royal LePage Place in the fall.

“I chose the BCHL because of the league’s great reputation for development and I feel that it’s fast, offensive style will complement my game,” said Tresca.

“Also, many of my former teammates and friends have played in the league and have all had great experiences.”

Tresca said he’s developed a good relationship with both Ferguson and team owner John Murphy and is excited with the direction they’re walking the organization.
