It was a hectic trade deadline for the West Kelowna Warriors and most fans likely didn’t know what to expect out of the team down the stretch.

They likely didn’t expect the team, who had won just seven times in 39 games before Friday, to deliver three straight wins, scoring 16 goals in the process.

It started with a 5-3 win over the Merritt Centennials on Friday night, powdered by five different goal scorers.

Just 24 hours later, the Warriors got a pair of goals from Deegan Mofford to beat the Cents again, this time 5-1.

Saturday’s game was also the BCHL debut for Kelowna Chiefs’ forward Porter Dawson, who was called up to join West Kelowna as an AP call up.

He was held pointless on Saturday, but would notch his first career BCHL assist when the Warriors extended their winning streak with a 6-2 win over the Alberni Valley Bulldogs on Sunday.

Both Carter Wilkie and Colby Elmer had two goals, while Nicolas Ardanaz and Holden Kodak picked up three assists each.

Johnny Derrick made 46 saves to pick up his third win of the weekend.

The Warriors will look to extend the winning streak to four games when the Surrey Eagles roll into town on Friday.
