"This project will go forward."

Those words from Westcorp Vice President Gail Temple about the big High-rise Hotel/Condo project proposed for near the foot of Bernard Avenue.

Westcorp blames the provincial government's plans to impose a speculation tax on some buyers for its decision to put sales on hold for the summer. 

But Temple says while the time frame may have changed, it's not in doubt.

"We're just confident and optimistic that everything will be just fine."

Westcorp says it's planning to go to market next spring, but not before the speculation tax is clear and they have a better sense of what the market is doing.
