  • VIDEO: Man waterskis down Fernie’s flooded streets wearing only a speedo

There’s a lot of great alpine skiing around Fernie in the winter, but typically the waterskiing would be reserved for the summer months on the nearby Kootenay River.

However, there’s one guy who isn’t willing to wait until the summer.

The mystery man was caught on camera waterskiing down the flooded streets of Fernie over the weekend.

In the short video, a black pickup truck is seen hitting a section of street with a few inches of standing water.

The man is being towed about 15 feet behind the truck, wearing nothing but a speedo and a pair of waterskis.

His antics were caught on camera by Lisa Vincent and shared to Facebook by Melissa Rodger.

The video quickly started to spread, with many commenting that it was the ultimate Canadian move.

There were plenty of people who expressed interest in trying something similar, but the smartest comment may have come from Craig Hutchinson who said, “hope he didn’t wipe out!”

We hope so too, because that fall would be a lot more painful than doing the same on water!
