VIDEO: All charged-up about electric cars

Electric Vehicle sales are up. Way up.

Estimates suggest sales of Electric and Hybrid vehicles were up about 75 percent last year and the trend is continuing in 2018. And with the prices of electric cars dropping and gasoline rising, the trend is expected to intensify.

But there's a driver in Lake Country who got ahead of the crowd.

Instead of waiting for prices to drop, Kent Patterson converted his Dodge Neon to electric three years ago.

Patterson is now a self-styled advocate for electric vehicles and we met him at his carport where he plugs in.
