If transportation is the one thing standing between a family member and Christmas dinner on Thursday, a Canadian rideshare company wants to help.

Uride says it is offering free rides up to $25 on Christmas Day to ensure people don’t miss out on spending the holidays with family.

Anyone struggling to afford a ride, or does not have access to transportation to get to Christmas dinner, is encouraged to reach out to the company for assistance.

Founder and CEO Cody Ruberto says anyone in need, or those wishing to nominate someone else, can email support@uridetech.com with the subject line “Free Christmas Rides” to get a code.

Eligible participants will get a pair of promo codes, each covering a ride of up to $25 on Christmas Day to cover both the trip to dinner and a return home.

“Most of us have been in situations where money or transportation make life harder than it needs to be,” Ruberto said. “If we can help bring more families together on Christmas, then this initiative will be more than worth it.”

According to Ruberto, Uride was created in an effort to prevent impaired driving, which is often in the spotlight around the holidays.

“Helping people get home safe and be with the people they care about is why we do what we do,” he noted. “We wish everyone an incredible and safe holiday season!”
