In anticipation of the Level Up 2024 AI Summit, KelownaNow’s Rob Cupello sat down with one of the event’s keynote speakers, Kane Minkus. 

Minkus shared insights into his journey from a record producer at Sony to becoming a world-renowned entrepreneur and AI expert.

Minkus' career is nothing short of extraordinary—What began as a passion for music led him to diving into the tech world. 

He worked with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Mariah Carey and Ricky Martin, however, his career took a pivotal turn with the advent of Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs), a technology that revolutionized music production by making it faster, better, and more cost-effective.

"When I saw this technology, I knew it would change everything," Minkus recalled. 

Despite resistance around the new technology, Minkus was determined to push forward. 

"I quit my job at Sony, which was a big deal at the time, and moved to Silicon Valley to start my first business based around this new technology," he said.

That decision proved to be the right one. 

Within four years, Minkus' company became one of the top five in the world in its field.

Over the next decade, he went on to start several other companies, each leveraging new technologies that drove innovation and growth.
