(UPDATE: Jan. 10 @ 9:45 am) – It looks like traffic has started to flow normally around Bridge Hill, but the Kelowna RCMP are still having to assist vehicles that are getting stuck.

"Just before 8:30 am, police officers of the West Kelowna RCMP responded to multiple vehicles stuck on Hwy 97 in both the westbound and eastbound lanes," said an RCMP release. 

"The recent snow has prevented vehicles from getting up the hill while causing vehicles to slide down the hill just west of the William Bennett Bridge."

The RCMP are urging any drivers who get stuck to remain in their vehicles for their own safety and first responders will come to assist them.

Sand trucks are en route to the area as well.

(Original story: Jan. 10 @ 9 am) – If you’re looking to drive between Kelowna and West Kelowna today, you may have some issues.

According to a NowMedia reporter that came in from West Kelowna, conditions on the hill are extremely slick.

As a result, some cars are having issues with the grade of the hill and it’s created a huge snarl in traffic.

Webcams show westbound traffic backed up over the bridge and into Kelowna, while eastbound traffic is severely backed up at the top of the hill.

There's no word on any accidents at this point, but that could change at any moment as cars struggle with the hill.
