As 2017 comes to a close, you start to see more and more year-end stories that take a look back on the past 12 months.

Year-end lists and statistics from social media sites have become more popular over the last few years and one of the most interesting lists is the most retweeted tweets of the year.

From crazy stunts to get a year’s supply of chicken nuggets to a heartfelt goodbye from America’s outgoing president, Twitter’s 2017 list has it all.
 

Three of the nine most popular tweets come from Barack Obama, while two came from musicians and another pair came from professional athletes.

The top tweet, however, came from a completely random teenager who was issued a challenge by Wendy’s and certainly delivered.

For a little bit of context, the Ariana Grande tweet is in reference to the terrorist attack at her show in Manchester, Linkin Park's tweet came after the untimely death of their lead singer Chester Bennington and Lebron James' tweet is directed at President Donald Trump after he withdrew the Golden State Warriors' invitation to the White House.
