Breaking News:

This is some breaking news!

  • There’s snow on the Connector this morning

The weather has gotten colder and the Okanagan Connector was covered with a layer of white snow on Wednesday morning.

The snowfall didn’t even happen overnight, as the sun rose on a bare Connector, but that changed quickly.

DriveBC webcam footage from the Elkhart area near the Connector summit shows that the snow started falling shortly after 7 a.m.

In between the 7:07 a.m. and 7:24 a.m. images of the highway, it goes from completely bare road to a good dusting of snow.

The white stuff continues to pile up and as of 8:30 a.m., the road looks like it does below.

There’s also a light dusting of snow on the road at the Pennask Summit and the Aspen Grove junction, but it’s nothing that should affect driving conditions too much.

As for the Coquihalla, conditions are still looking good for the highway between Merritt and Hope.

If you’re travelling on the Connector or Coquihalla this week, feel free to send an e-mail to news@kelownanow.com with the latest road conditions.
