It was a great weekend to get out and support junior hockey in the Central Okanagan.

Saturday night was Teddy Bear Toss night for both the West Kelowna Warriors and Kelowna Chiefs and the fans came out in droves.

In Rutland, some Chiefs fans may have missed the action, however, as the teddy bear toss goal came before some people had made it to their seats.

It was scored by Logan Keating just 1:32 into the first period and it sent an army of stuffies flying over the glass and onto the ice.

Across the bridge, the Warriors gave their fans a chance to get into the rink, get settled and even grab a beverage before having to toss their bears.

The big moment came just over 13 minutes into the frame courtesy of Holden Kodak, who scored his first BCHL goal as a member of the Warriors.

Unfortunately, both Central Okanagan teams fell by a score of 4-3 on the evening, with the Warriors going down to the Wenatchee Wild in overtime and the Chiefs losing out to the Summerland Steam.

The most important thing on Saturday was that dozens of bears were donated to Mamas for Mamas and Kelowna Santas in time for the holiday season.
