VictoriaNow is excited to feature some of our favorite Instagram profiles from the area. These profiles are chosen based on their content, style and interaction with the community. If you would like to be featured be sure to tag #victorianow and send an email to news@victorianow.com!

My name is Jamie Carlson, I am 22-years-old and was born and raised here in Victoria BC. I am an aspiring photographer/videographer with a passion for West Coast themed media. I love the outdoors and you can usually find me exploring in the forests or adventuring along the coast of Vancouver Island.

    Why do you use Instagram?

I use Instagram as a platform to share pictures, tips and travel ideas to fellow adventurers who are looking for places to visit along the West Coast of BC.

What will people see on your feed?

On my page @Westcoastmediabc you will find portraits of people, natural landscapes and moments in time captured in a Pacific Northwest style amongst trees and oceans.

    Favorite Instagram accounts to follow?

My favourite Instagram accounts to follow are PNWonderland, HelloBC and many of the local PNW style content creators.

How do you decide on your location for shoots?

I love exploring new locations and always try to bring my gear with me, but I do have my favourite places that I go back to and see what kind of lighting or unique moments I can capture that day.

    Biggest Instagram moment?

My biggest Instagram moment to date would be a photo feature on @VictoriaBuzz. It’s a rewarding feeling that I can put out work that people enjoy.

    Favorite hashtags?

Some of my favourite hashtags are #PNWonderland #VictoriaViews and #ExploreBC.

    Why do you follow VictoriaNow?

I follow VictoriaNow because they have great intentions to help connect local content creators. As well as being a community hub to local events, good food tips and news in Victoria.
