Hello! I am Dylan Monteith a local Photographer/Filmmaker based in the little town of Lake Country in the beautiful Okanagan. Ever since I got my first DSLR (which is still the one I use today) I have been working on bettering my photography and using Instagram and my website to share ever since. I love to spend my days hiking and taking photos! I would love to make a career out of traveling the world while doing photography/videography in the future.

    Why do you use Instagram?

I use Instagram because it is a great way to show my photos worldwide. In a time of constant connection between everyone in the world I find it important to share my art and inspire others with it.

What will people see on your feed?

People will see through my lens of what the world is. I show bright colours along with long exposures of our beautiful Okanagan skies! I have recently started to dabble more into people photography but I stick more to my familiar landscapes.

Does your page have a specific style?

I'd describe my style as warm and saturated. I'd also describe it to be wide and a seeing eye of the landscapes and people around me. Every photography is like my own painting and I control the brush with a click of my button.

    Favourite Instagrammers to follow?

My favourite Instagram accounts to follow are all of the local ones! I love to get involved in every aspect of my community and help raise awareness for events and local companies all around me.

    Why do you follow KelownaNow?

I follow KelownaNow because of the local content they share and the news stories they produce. I can always rely on KelownaNow to give my news and local events right to my devices and a moments notice.

How do you decide on your location for shoots?

If I see a location someone else shot in the Okanagan I'll travel there if I really like it! I also use the KelownaNow website to find cool waterfalls and hiking trails to take photos!

    Biggest Instagram moment?

My biggest Instagram moment is always when I get shared on Local pages like KelownaNow and help get my content out there. It's always nice to feel appreciated and know my content is reaching everyone it can.

    Favourite hashtags?

My favourite hashtags are of course #kelownanow but also any variation of the Okanagan hashtags used around the valley. I love seeing local pictures and following local photographers. It provides me with inspiration and keeps me going seeing all of the amazing talent that surrounds me in my community.
