Stuff your shopping cart, rummage your closets and challenge your friends, family, class, office… Valhalla Helicopters “Stuff A Heli” fundraiser is back for it’s second year in a row and this time it’s going to the dogs (and cats).

Last year, Dawn Urban and Claire Savege organized the first annual “Stuff A Heli” event with Valhalla Helicopters. Donations were collected for the Food Bank, and this year they’ve set their sights on the animals in our community. “Different charities touch different parts of the community, and we want to spread that love.”
Benefiting this year will be Paws It Forward, Woofer Rescue, Alley Cats, and the SPCA!
Of course, the more they get, the more there’ll be to go around and lend a huge helping hand to our awesome local rescues.

With six drop off locations throughout the Okanagan, there is plenty of opportunity to show your support. Donations will be collected at PetSmart on Harvey, Urban Distillery downtown, Bosley’s Lake Country, Pet Planet on the West Side, Pounce and Hound in the Mission (who will be offering discounts for donations), or you can head over to Valhalla Helicopters headquarters at 1100 Stevens Rd where I have it under good authority they’ll sneak you back to see the helicopters!
The challenge is on. Last year, other heli companies in the Okanagan, down to LA, and into Australia participated in the event, and they’re hoping to keep the momentum up. Claro Learning Centre has challenged their students and will be participating in stuffing a kennel!
