Someone is finally moving into the old Carl’s Jr. location along Hwy 97.

You may have noticed some work going on in the old building over recent weeks, or perhaps the ‘Starbucks Coming Soon’ sign hanging on the construction fence along the highway.

If you didn’t, now you know that a brand new Starbucks location will be filling the void left by Carl’s Jr.

You won’t have to wait long to check it out either, as a representative from the iconic Seattle-based coffee chain has confirmed to KelownaNow that it will open next week.

A specific day was not provided, but a KelownaNow reader whose manager was transferred to this new location reported that it's set to open on Friday.

While it’ll have all the typical features of your regular Starbucks, this location will also feature a drive-thru.

Just like its neighbouring Starbucks up the street at Hwy 97 and Gordon, it’ll be perfect for those commuting downtown or into West Kelowna in the morning.

When it opens next week, this latest Starbucks will become Kelowna’s 15th.
