It feels like winter won’t end, but it might be ending just in time.
St. Patrick’s Day is this weekend and, for many, it’s a great chance to enjoy some alcoholic beverages outdoors on a nice spring day.
Of course, Mother Nature doesn’t always cooperate and it seemed like that might be the case this year, but there might be some literal light at the end of the tunnel.
The Environment Canada forecast calls for sunshine to enter the picture on Friday and stick around through the weekend.
Temperatures will also get progressively warmer over the weekend and there’s currently a high of 13°C listed on Sunday, March 17.
“Signs point to an upper ridge building in over B.C. this weekend,” said Wesla English, NowMedia meteorologist. “This means we are going to see mild air moving into our region with sunshine!”

For those who do indulge in a little St. Paddy’s Day fun on Sunday, but have to go to work on Monday, the weather might make that part a little easier as well.
Monday’s forecast calls for more sunshine and a high of 15°C!
It may have snowed this morning, but it looks like spring is finally ready to arrive.
