Eccentric West Coast prog art rockers, Spaceport Union, are taking off from Mile 0 in Victoria, BC on July 15th and heading out across Canada for a 30-date summer tour to celebrate the official release of their sophomore album, “Permanent Frequency”.  

They will be playing in Kelowna at Muninns Post with another Canadian group, Meteor Tree, on Saturday, July 15th at 8 p.m. Tickets are on sale for $10.

Tour shows are highlighting some of the best of creative Canadian rock, art rock and prog, sharing the stage with incredible acts across Canada such as local Kelowna favourites.

Spaceport Union’s progressive, art rock influences include Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Porcupine Tree, Radiohead and Kate Bush. With a magical sound all their own, and a cathartic live show, the band transports their audiences to the outer stratosphere of rock and back.

No strangers to the Canadian music scene, Spaceport Union has been bringing their epic progressive art rock across Canada on multiple tours, showcasing at Canadian Music Week, and playing many festivals including Rifflandia, Diversity, Elevate the Arts, WoofStock, and Music on the Meadow Festival.

Their first album, ‘Flirting with the Queen’, received much acclaim in prog/art rock circles in the UK, and was listed as #11 in the Über Röck Magazine top 20 albums of the year alongside acts like Steven Wilson, Deep Purple and the Von Hertzen Brothers, and Listener’s Top 20 Albums of the Year on Prog Mill Radio.

“Permanent Frequency” is set for wide release on July 14th, 2017. Released singles include, ‘White Noise’, ‘In the Heat of the Sun’ and ‘Drone’. Seven more tracks are to be released from this 10-track album. While each song is a standalone work, the album has overarching elements of sacred geometry and eternal cycles, and an intricately interwoven sonic palette that ties the songs together in a thematic whole.
