(UPDATE: Dec. 1 @ 4:50 pm) – The snowfall warning issued for the South Cariboo, Thompson region, Shuswap and North Okanagan has been extended again.
Environment Canada says the Central Okanagan and Highway 97 are now included in the weather warning.
While other areas could see up to 15 centimetres of snow by tonight, the Central Okanagan will only see those levels over higher terrain.
The snow will taper off overnight, however.
(UPDATE: Dec. 1 @ 12:05 pm) – A weather alert calling for up to 15 centimetres of snow has been extended into the Southern Interior.
The alert, which was originally in place for the South Cariboo region, is now in effect for the North and South Thompson, including Kamloops.
It is also in place for Highway 5 through the Thompson region, the Shuswap and the North Okanagan, including Vernon.
Between 10 and 15 centimetres of snow is expected to fall by the end of the day.
The snow will taper off overnight.
Motorists are advised to prepare for potentially hazardous driving conditions on the highways.
(Original story: Dec. 1 @ 9:28 am) – A snowfall warning is in place for a large area north of Kamloops.
Environment Canada has the warning in place for the Southern Cariboo including Williams Lake, 100 Mile House and Highway 97.

“A Pacific frontal system is pushing into the BC interior,” the warning said.
“Snow is expected to begin early this morning and continue through the day today. There is the potential for some freezing rain mixed with the snow at times.”
The snow is expected to taper off Monday night with 10-15 centimetres in the forecast.
Motorists are being advised to prepare for potentially hazardous driving conditions and slippery sections.
