This is some breaking news!

  • Smoke will come and go for the next 2 days

After three days of smoke, Kelowna woke up to blue skies on Thursday.

It’s a bit of a deceiving look, however, as the Okanagan is surrounded by smoke in three directions.

According to the smoke forecast, the blue skies could start to disappear as soon as 10 a.m. on Thursday as smoke starts to move back into the valley.

It’ll start with smoke from the north, which will meet up with smoke from the south at about 3 p.m.

It won’t last too long though, as it’ll start to clear up once again around 6 p.m., leaving Kelowna smoke free through the night.

Looking ahead to Friday, it could look a lot like Thursday.

Smoke is expected to seep in from the south around 10 a.m. and will linger for most of the day before moving east around 7 p.m.

Beyond that is a mystery, but hopefully the smoke stays away and we’re treated to blue skies for the Labour Day long weekend!
