Small fire sparks east of Kamloops

A third small fire has sparked near Kamloops, adding to the list of fires igniting around the city perimeter this week.

A small 0.01-hectare fire has sparked near Chase-Falkland Rd. Saturday afternoon.

B.C. Wildfire Service has sent three personnel to attend to the fire, says Marla Catherall, Fire Information Officer with Kamloops Fire Centre.

The crew has poured 200-gallons of water on it to subdue the burn.

Currently, the fire is not threatening at homes and does not appear to be growing, stated Catherall.
