  • Small fire near Oliver B.C. not anticipated to spread

A small fire ignited near Wolfcub Creek east of Oliver Monday evening eliciting response from BC Wildfire Service with 26 firefighters and two pieces of heavy equipment, says Marla Catherall.

The fire is being held at approximately 5.1 hectares and is not likely to grow due to favourable weather and fire suppression tactics.

Firefighters are pleased that Wolfcub Creek has offered a constant flow of water to assist BC Wildfire in constricting the wildfire.

The area around the fire is currently 100% guarded and 10% wet-lined – meaning hoses have wet 10% of the area around the fire and will deter ignition.
