A good portion of Boucherie Road will be closed to motorists, cyclists and pedestrians on Wednesday.

The road will be shut down between Hayman Road and Hudson Road between 6:30 pm and 9:30 pm as crews do spring maintenance and repairs.

The work will include boulevard cleaning and weeding, repairs to areas damaged by motor vehicle accidents, catch basin cleaning, fire hydrant cleaning and sidewalk sweeping.

Boucherie Road is West Kelowna’s busiest street with more than 8,000 vehicles per day and peak times are between 7 am and 6 pm.

The City has scheduled the work outside these peak times to try and negatively affect the fewest number of users.

Crews will maintain access for emergency vehicles and residents living within the immediate work area, as well as buses and transit users.

For everyone else, a detour is available via Hwy 97 and Hudson Road.
