The biannual closure of Boucherie Road is coming this week.
From 5:30-11 pm on Wednesday, the City of West Kelowna will shut down the route between Hayman Road and Hudson Road for seasonal maintenance.
“Crews will be winterizing irrigation, removing hanging baskets, cleaning up boulevards and washing/sweeping the street,” a City release explained.

It’s a full closure of the road, which means bike lanes and sidewalks will also be blocked off for cyclists and pedestrians.
Vehicles are being told to use Hwy 97 and Hudson Road or Hayman Road and Thacker Drive as detour routes.
“Crews will maintain access for emergency vehicles, residents living within the immediate area, buses and transit users,” the City noted.
“For everyone’s safety and out of respect for neighbours, please follow traffic control signs and personnel, slow down and move over for crews, and follow posted speed limits in and around work zones and along detour routes.”
The City thanked the public in advance for its patience while the road is closed Wednesday night.
