  • UPDATE: Hwy 1 reopens to traffic after rockslide

(UPDATE: Dec. 20 @ 10:55 am) – Crews have cleared the rockslide from Hwy 1, south of Boston Bar.

Traffic is now moving in both directions once again, but there may be a bit of delays due to the congestion.

(Original story: Dec. 20 @ 9:40 am) – If you or someone you know is trying to get from the Lower Mainland to the BC Interior, it’s not a possibility right now.

A rockslide has closed Hwy 1 just south of Boston Bar, which means all three routes to the BC Interior are now closed.

The closure is for traffic heading in both directions.

DriveBC webcams show traffic already starting to back up as some scramble to turn around and head back towards the Fraser Valley.

NowMedia will update this story as more information becomes available.
