There was doubt it would get renewed at all, so for Rick and Morty fans this is a massive announcement.

Rick and Morty, the popular adult cartoon, has received a massive 70-episode renewal from Adult Swim.

With just 31 episodes having aired so far, the new order will more than triple the show’s total run, eventually bringing it to 101 episodes.

With co-creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon being notoriously unhurried about producing the show, this episode renewal could span for a number of years.

The news was revealed today through a social media post of a sketch from Roiland, which references a scene from the shows pilot.

In that scene, Rick promises Morty that their adventures would stretch “forever and forever 100 years.”

While 70 episodes isn’t 100 years, it sure feels like it is for Rick and Morty fans who are craving new episodes.
